User opinion for Humax T800 80-hour Digital Video Recorder with TiVo: "this humax tivo has all the same functionality as a regular tivo (as far as i know). it works flawlessly. i installed a wireless usb adapter so that i could hook it up to my network and it worked without a problem. i did need a phone line to set it up initially, but this isn't usually a problem for most people. there is no noise coming from the machine and it isn't cheap at all. it appears very solid and i am really glad i bought it."

User opinion for TiVo TCD540040 Series2 40-Hour Digital Video Recorder: "Though all my friends jumped on the TIVO bandwagon, I had been a hold out for some time until a few months ago. They kept telling me how it "changed the way they watched tv." Well, I originally thought that it was nothing more than a high tech VCR that you had to pay a monthly service fee for. Well, as you see in other reviews, it really changes everything about watching tv. I finally bought one as a gift for my wife (so that she could watch her soaps). It has been a great addition. It really does change the way we watch tv. There is no longer the angst about ensuring that I have set the VCR correctly. I can rewind the show and watch from the beginning while it continues to record. I could not do that with my conventional VCR. They recently added a feature that allows me to download shows from the TIVO to my laptop (though you need to install their software and it takes forever to download the show to the computer). It is not something I do regularly, but it is a nice "bell and whistle" non ..."

User opinion for RCA/MSN TV 2 Internet and Media Player: "The MSNtv2 receiver is great for those of us who are not computer savy. I had webtv plus for years and used it every day. It had gotten very slow, and I couldn't sign into Ebay anymore. That was the turning point that something had to be done.With the MSNtv2 receiver, I am ebaying again and at a much faster pace.The receiver will turn itself off sometimes, and sometimes I have a hard time hooking up; especially, it seems if the planes are flying at the air force base beside us.Sending pictures is different than with webtv plus. It was so easy with webtv plus.All in all though, I am very pleased. I can do more with the MSNtv2 receiver, and I definitely recommend it. Also, I got such a good deal through Amazon.com."

User opinion for Panasonic DMRE85HS Progressive-Scan DVD Player/Recorder with 120 GB Hard Drive Recording: "I purchased my 85HS back in Nov 2004, and had no problem with it until March 2005. My 85HS was manufactured in March 2004. The main problems I have experienced have been lockups. In March I phoned Panasonic, and got the firmware upgrade file through email. Since then I have only had one lockup, which was cleared with a reset. The past 2 months, all features have worked ok. I record a couple programs which are on daily, and the TV Guide feature only records if the show is actually on, as it should. It is nice to be able to watch them and just erase them, or record on DVD the ones you want to keep. If I had read all the reviews before I purchased the 85HS, I probably would not have purchased it, but through persistence, a few headaches, and a bit of "geeking," I'm satisfied with it at the moment."
