"Let me first start this review by saying that this is NOT the best FPS ever made. That honor still belongs to Halo 1, which I believe will not be topped for a very long time (even when Halo 3 comes out). Another question: Does it live up to the massive hype that has been building up ever since the first screens were released? In my humble opinion: Not really. It is, indeed, a great game. But the single mode is just too dissapointing on many levels. First, let me start off by saying that the story DOES NOT take place on earth. Second, the Master Chief is not the only character you play as. And third, the story is just not that great. The Arbitor (while cool) is not as cool as the Master Chief. To make matters worse, the story doesn't even have an ending. This game (unlike the first) contains no innovation at all besides the energy sword. The Assault Rifle is replaced by the SMG, which is weak as.....heck. The pistol is useless, and duel wielding isn't really that great. It may seem like that I've been r ..."
